Report of Commission appointed to divide Wm Flanagans land.
In the County Court Dec. Term 1855
On motion of James Flanagan, one of the heirs at law of William Flanagin dec’d, Adam Link, Samuel Knott, John Wysong, and David Nichols are appointed commissioners, any three of whom may act to assign dower to Mrs. Martha Flanagin, the widow of the said deceased, such assignment to be made according to law, and said commissioners are authorized to call in the services of a surveyor in making such assignment. And on motion of said James Flanagin as administrator of the Estate of said William Flanagin, deceased the same commissioners any three of whom may act, are appointed to make division of the slaves belonging to said Estate, among the parties entitled.

In obedience to an order of the County Court of Jefferson county, dated Dec’r Term 1855, and directed to us, the undersigned Commissioners, for the purpose of assigning dower to Mrs. Martha Flanagin, the widow of the late William Flanagin and dividing the remainder of the land between James Flanagin and Mrs. Dennis Daniels heirs at law. We therefore beg lieve to submit the following report viz: We assign to the widow Martha Flanagin Lot No. 1, Containing one hundred and twenty three acres, two roads and eight perches including five acres of wood land at the west end of the wood lot adjoining the land of Samuel Knott, also including sixteen acres and three woods at the north end of the wood lot adjoining Wm Engle, marked and numbered, as will be fully shown by reference to the map made by George Mauzy, surveyor of Jefferson County.
We also assign to James Flanagin Lot No 3. Containing one hundred and twenty nine acres, two roads, and eight perches, including twenty one acres of wood land lying on the North side of the farm and adjoining the land of Samuel Knott; also five acres and two roads, lying near the southern part of the farm, the metes and bounds of the whole are all numbered and fully described, which [“map” crossed out?] will more fully appear by reference to the Map.
We assign to Mrs. Daniels, the wife of Dennis Daniels Lot No. 2, containing one hundred and twenty acres, two roads and eight perches, including nineteen acres and three [?] of wood land; the Southern portion of the Wood lot adjoining the land of William Engle; the metes and bounds of the whole are all marked, numbered, and fully explained in the Surveyors Report as will be seen by reference to the same. We also assign to the said Dennis Daniels and his family the p[?] of the water from the well, situated upon the Dower or Lot No. 1 in common with the widow during the time he and his family may remain upon the land, designated as Lot No. 2. It is also clearly to be understood that in [?], whenever a division [..?] a fence, on either side, the same is to be used in common as [?] fence.
We also assign to the widow Martha Flanagin, a road through the land of Mrs. Daniels, twelve feet in width from the point at the grave yard, in dicated by the reg fig. 14 to the point at B, and from thence to the point at reg. Fig. 28, said road is to be seventeen feet wide. This road is to enable the widow to get to her wood lot marked No. 1 on the map, containing sixteen acres and three [?].
All of which is respectfully submitted.
