May 16, 2026This Deed made the 31st day of October in the year A.D. 1887, between Thomas A. Kirwan and Florence W. Kirwan his wife of the first part, and Alvernon Cross of the second part all of the Town of Harpers Ferry Jefferson County, West Virginia. Witnesseth: that in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars ($400.00) to the said Thos. A. Kirwan and Florence W. Kirwan his wife in hand paid by the said Alvernon Cross the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said Thomas A. Kirwan and Florence W. Kirwan doth grant unto the said Alvernon Cross and her heirs, administrators, executors and assigns with general warranty forever, all of the following described lots and property with all improvements thereon and appurtuances thereto belonging, to wit: Lots Nos. one, two three, four, and five in Block “V” extending from Potomac street to Van Wert street, also lots three and six in Block two (2) the former fronting 125 1/2 feet on Van Wert street and extending back between parallel lines to North Cliff street, and the latter fronting 165 feet on the said Van Wert street and extending back also between parallel lines to North Cliff street, also lot thirteen (13) in Block “J.J” fronting 60 feet on Fillmore street and extending back the same width. 163 feet, also lot seventeen Block “L.L” at the corner of South Cliff street and Boundary street, also lot ten (10) in Block “J” Camp Hill fronting 60 feet on the South line of Ridge street, also lots fifteen (15) eighteen (18) and twenty (20) in Block N lots 15 and 18 fronting each 60 feet on the South line of Potomac street and lot twenty being a triangular piece following on Taylor street these being a part of the same lots which were conveyed by A. McCue, Solicitor of the United States Treasury to T. A. Kirwan and James Watson by Deed bearing date the 22nd day of October, 1886, which said Deed is file away in the land records of Jefferson County West Virginia in Deed Book R pages 1 and 2 to which reference is made for a more complete description. To have and to hold unto the said Alvernon Cross her heirs and assigns.
