Lamp visits Flanagan at Bakerton

July 22, 2018Mr. James Flanagan, a lifelong resident of Jefferson county and a respected farmer of the Bakerton neighborhood, died Tuesday morning at the age of 69 years. He had been in failing health for the past year and had been confined to his room for the past two months with a complication of diseases that baffled the skill of all physicians. He was a good man, exemplary in his conduct and upright in all his dealings. He is survived by five sons and four daughters: Walter J., of Strasburg, Va., John G., of Baltimore, William and Alvey, of Bakerton, and Oscar, at home; Miss Martha Flanagan, at home, Mrs. Thomas Welsh, Mrs. Annie Moler and Mrs. William Bowman, of Bakerton. The funeral service is to be held at Bethesda Church this afternoon, with Rev. Absalom Knox in charge, and the remains will be interred in Elmwood Cemetery, Shepherdstown.
