December 22, 2025On Thursday of last week our baseball nine motored to Shenandoah Junction, and after a friendly little nine innings had passed we came home with the laurels. The score was 9 to 4 in our favor. The only feature of particular merit was the home run by Grove off Moler.
Mr. Allen Wilkins, student of Shepherd College, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Rice and family.
Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Mills and son spent Saturday and Sunday across the Potomac.
Mrs. Lula Burns and son, of Gaithersburg, Md., are spending some time with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Trundle.
W. J. B. Houser is at Buckeystown, Md., on business. George Ludwig is filling the vacancy in the office force until Mr. Houser returns.
Misses Jessie and Emma Cockrell who have been critically ill for some time at their home near Harper’s Ferry have shown no signs of improvement.
Those entertained by Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Hopper and family on Thursday were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gouker, Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Cole and daughter Elizabeth, and Mrs. Hunter Swann, all of Washington.
Mrs. M. D. Kernan and two children, of Washington, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jno. M. Moore, at “The Vista” near Harper’s Ferry.
Harry Moler, of Washington, spending some time with his sister, Mrs. A. T. Moler, at the edge of town.
Mr. and Mrs. George Ludwig are spending some time under the parental roof with Mrs. Ludwig’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Houser.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Best, Miss Pearle Welsh and Messrs. Russell Best and Jack Lynch are spending their vacation at Alexandria, Va.
On Thursday Mr. and Mrs. W. Geary, Mrs. D. H. Hetzel and Miss Pearle Welsh motored to Martinsburg to spend the day.
Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Mohler, Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Mohler and Mr. Milton Mohler spend Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Fonrose Mohler at Buckeystown, Md. Mrs. Cora V. Mohler, who had spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Mohler, made the return trip with them.
Messrs. Geo. S. Houser, Sr. and Samuel Potts attended the camp meeting at Purcellville on Sunday.
Garland Moore and Miss Juanita Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Welsh and daughter, Miss Minnie Kidwiler, Mr. and Mrs. John Moler and daughter, Miss Margaret Houser, George Houser and brother Archie, Strauther Lynch, Harvey Kidwiler, Lester Jones and Preston Boyer were among those who attended the picnic at Pleasantville, Md., on Saturday.
