December 21, 2025Chas. P. Gouker, Mrs. Frank Cole, Mrs. Hunter Swann and Mrs. Ida L. Moore, all of Washington, spent Monday with Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Hopper and family. Mrs. Gouker, who has been spending the past two weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Hopper, made the return trip with them.
Soft hats will be worn this fall. Soak your old Derby in hot water and it will get soft.
Mrs. Wm. E. Mills spent several days the past week with the home folks at Samples Manor, Md.
Fonrose Mohler and children, of Buckeystown, Md., spent Sunday with Mrs. Cora Mohler and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Mohler.
Our local baseball team brought home the laurels on Saturday, after crossing bats with the Kearneysville sluggers. Score 6 to 4. On Saturday our junior masters of the horse hide pellet walloped the Shepherdstown juniors to the tune of 35 to 5.
P. S. Millard is having his store and dwelling painted. Guy Lewis is doing the work.
Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Hetzel gave a birthday party Saturday afternoon in honor of the 6th birthday of their daughter Helen. Quite a number of tots enjoyed the festive occasion.
Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Sechrist and children and Miss. Roberta Mann, of Waynesboro, Pa., the latter, whose home is in Baltimore, being a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Sechrist, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Hetzel and family.

Coulter and daughter, of Pleasantville, Md.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carter, of Moler’s Cross Roads; Mrs. Gertie Moler, Mr. and Mrs. T. Carter and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carter and children, all of Shepherdstown.
