Naturalization Intent: James Garrett

Ordered that it be certified that James Garrett being a White alien aged 29 years the 28th day of March 1825, came into Court and reported and registered himself pursuant to the act of Congress entitled “an act supplimentary to, and to amend the act, entitled an act to establish an uniform [?] pf naturalization, and to repeal the act heretofore existing on that subject,” that the said James Garrett was born in the County of Louth in Ireland, that he was 29 years of age on the 28th day of March 1825, that he owes allegiance to Geo. IV. King of the United Kingdoms of Great Britain and Ireland, and ordered that he certify above, that the said James Garrett make oath, that it is his bona fide intention of becoming a citizen of the United States of America, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State of Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Geo IV. King of the United Kingdoms of Great Britain and Ireland, which is ordered to be Certified.
