October 24, 2025William Frith, Shoemaker, a native of Ireland, this day applied to the Court to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States, whereupon the said William Frith proved by the oaths of William McBee and James Shirley, witnesses, that he arrived in the United States more than five years previous to the date hereof. And the said William Frith also exhibited a certificate of the Clerk of this Court that more than two years ago he had declared an oath in this Court, his intention to become a citizen of the United States, which last mentioned certificate is in these words: William Frith, an alien, this day came into Court and made oath that it is his bona fide intention of becoming a citizen of this country, and renounced on oath all allegiance to any king, prince, potentate, state or sovereignty whatever, and especially to George IV King of the United Kingdoms of Great Britain and Ireland, and reported himself as follows, as William Frith aged 23 years the 10th day of July last, born in the county of Fermenagh, Ireland, in the United Kingdoms of Great Britain and Ireland, which is ordered to be certified. And it being proven to the satisfaction of the Court, by the testimony of James Shirley and William McBee, citizens of the said United States, who were examined as witnesses, on oath, that since the arrival of the said William Frith as aforesaid, he has resided within the United States five years at least and within this State one year at least, and during that time has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same, he the said William Frith declared on oath in open Court, that he will support the constitution of the United States and that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to William the fourth King of the United Kingdoms of Great Britain and Ireland. And thereupon the said William Frith is admitted a citizen of the said United States.
