July 31, 2018Notes of Our Soldiers. Captain H. C. Getzendanner, chairman of the county exemption board, is in receipt of a notice from the War Department to have the fourteen men in emergency call Number 73 ready or entrainment on Tuesday, April 2d. The men will assemble in Charles Town on the afternoon of that day, prepared to leave at 6.49 over the B. & O. for their cantonment. While fourteen men are required in the call, sixteen will be notified to assemble, so as to have two extra men in the event that any of the fourteen should fail to respond. The sixteen who will be required to be on hand are: Vicinzo Lilla, Granville A. Hock, Enrico Ranaldi, B. C. Sponsler, Roy Dyott Cockrell, Claude D. Ritenour, Oscar Strother Flanagan, Roy E. Cook, Oscar M. Scarlett, Paul Eugene Winters, Robert Earl Dorsey, George Rouss McKee, Harry R. Ridgeway, and William Edward Hawk.
