Obituary: Frances M. Griggs Flanagan
June 20, 2018Company D Reunion at the Crossroads
June 20, 2018A Tribute of Respect. The loss of a worthy resident is a sad blow to any community; hence it is with feelings akin to sorrow that we refer to the decease of Mrs. Fanny Flanagan, which occured on the 9th inst. at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. A. M. Hopper, near Bakerton, this county. Mrs. Flanagan had passed beyond the sphere of an octogenarian, being in her 89th year. She was an exemplary Christian, and has always been identified with every movement having in view the relief of suffering humanity. The loss of this devoted and affectionate mother is keenly felt, not only by the many who loved her in Jefferson county, but by her five children who survive her, viz: Mrs. Licklider, Mrs. Hopper, Mrs. Moler, and James and John Flanagan. She was truly a good matron, has met her reward, and in conclusion we can truthfully say, “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.” M. L. KREEPS.
