October 24, 2025James Crilly, a native of Ireland, this day applied to the Court to be admitted a citizen of the United States, and it appearing to the court that more than two years ago, he made a report of himself to this Court, to wit: on the 18th day of September, 1837, and at the same time, declared on oath his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and it being proved by the Testimony of Isaac Fouke and Thos. Mulligan, who were examined as witnesses on oath, that since the arrival of the said James Crill, as stated in report, he has resided in the United States five years, and in this State one year, and during that time has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. He, the said James Crilly, having this day declared on oath, in open court, that he will support the Constitution of the United States, and that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria I. Queen of Great Britain and Ireland, he is admitted a citizen of the said United States.
