October 25, 2025Michael Doran, a native of Ireland, this day applied to the Court to be admitted a citizen of the United States: whereupon the said Michael Doran exhibited the proceedings of the Court at the October Term in the year 1839– whereby it appears that the said Michael Doran arrived in the United States more than five years previous to the date hereof, and that at the October Term, 1839 of this Court the said Michael Doran declared on oath his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and it being proved to the satisfaction of the Court by the Testimony of Martin Grace and William McGraw, citizens of the United States who were examined as witnesses on oath, that since the arrival of the said Michael Doran as aforesaid he has resided within the United States more than five years and within this State more than one year and during that time has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same he the said Michael Doran, declared on oath in open Court that he will support the Constitution of the United States and that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria I Queen of Great Britain and Ireland, and thereupon the said Michael Doran is admitted a citizen of the United States.
