October 24, 2025William Maloney, a native of Ireland, this day applied to the Court to be admitted a citizen of the United States, and it appearing to the Court that more than two years ago, to wit: at February Term 1843, of this Court, the said William Maloney declared on oath his intentions to become a citizen of the United States, to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty, whatever, & particularly to Victoria I Queen of Great Britain and Ireland: and it being proved to the satisfaction of the Court by the Testimony of William McSherry and William Roddy, citizens of the United States, who were examined as witnesses on oath, that since the arrival of the said Wm Maloney he has resided in the United States and in this State more than five years, and during that time has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same, he, the said William Maloney declared on oath in open court that he will support the Constitution of the United States and that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty, whatever, and particularly to Victoria I Queen of Great Britain and Ireland. And thereupon the said William Maloney is admitted a citizen of the United States.
