October 23, 2025James Conlin, a native of Ireland, this day applied to the Court to be admitted a citizen of the United States, and it appearing to the Court that more than two years ago, to wit: at the October Term 1838, of the County Court of Morgan in this Commonwealth, the said James Conlin made a report of himself in due form and at the same time declared on oath his intention to become a citizen of the United States. And it being proved to the satisfaction of the court by the testimony of John J. Laley and Milton Garrett, citizens of the United States, who were examined as witnesses on oath, that since the arrival of the said James Conlin, as aforesaid, he has resided within the United States five years at least, and within this State one year at least, and during that time has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United Sates, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of he same, he the said Lawrence Finlan declared on oath that he will support the Constitution of the United States, and that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjore all allegiance and fidelity to every foregin Prince, Potentate, State, or sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria I. Queen of Great Britain and Ireland. And thereupon the said James Conlin is admitted a citizen of the United States.
