May 10, 2026In the name of God Amen, I Peter Licklider of Frederick County, State of Maryland, being sick and weak in body but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding do hereby make this my last will and testament revoking all others heretofore by me made. First and principally, I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God and my body to the earth, to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executive hereinafter named, and after my debts and funeral charges are paid I devise and bequeath all my real and personal property to my wife Nancy Licklider during her natural life after her death it is my earnest desire that my property should be equally divided between my three children viz my daughter Elizabeth Licklider, my son John Licklider, and my son Henry Licklider. It is also my particular desire that if my wife Nancy Licklider should live until my daughter Betsey Licklider arrives to the age of sixteen then it is my request that my Executrise shall pay her one hundred dollars current money or sooner if she should get married. I also request that my Excutrise shall pay my son John Licklider the sum of two hundred dollars when he arrives to the age of twenty one if she should live so long. I also request that my Executrise shall pay my son Henry Licklider Two hundred when he arrives to the age of Twenty one. Those three legacies devised to my three children viz Elizabeth, John and Henry are to be deducted out of this proportion of the Estate when it is settled provided they receive their separate amounts or have satisfaction for the same. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my wife Nancy Licklider to be sole Executrix of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand, and affixed my seal, this thirteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven.
