Only Jackson Brigade Survivor Reaches 90
Shepherdstown, W. Va., Man’s Birthday Is Celebrated By S. C. V.

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va., April 21.– John Allen Link, only surviving veteran of Stonewall Jackson’s brigade in the War between the States, today observed his ninetieth birthday anniversary at his home at Uvilla, near here. The occasion was remembered by Henry Kyd Douglas Camp, Sons of Confederae Veterans. He was a member of Company H, 2d Virginia Infantry, Stonewall brigade. He received three wounds in service, one at Antietam, one at Chancellorsville and the third at Gettysburg. He is in good health now.
He is one of the two Confederate veterans still living in Jefferson County, the other being John Louden of Bakerton, member of Company D, 12th Virginia Cavalry.
