July 13, 2018DEATH AT BAKERTON.
Laurence Welsh, an employee of the Standard Lime & Stone Company at Bakerton, died suddenly Monday morning. Having worked Sunday night, Mr. Welsh became ill about quitting time Monday and died before he could be taken to his home.
He was about 45 years of age. All of his life had been spent in the service of the Washington Building Lime Company, and later the Standard Lime and Stone Company. He married a daughter of Isaac Kidwiler, of the Bakerton neighborhood, who survives. His father, John Welsh, died several years ago.
Three sisters, Mrs. Sheldon Geary, of Washington; Mrs. Anna Mae Hetzel, and Mrs. Pearl Emmert, of Bakerton, survive. The funeral will be held this afternoon at the home with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Shepherdstown.
