Rev. Geo. Hildt, with one exception the oldest member of the M. E. Church, died in Baltimore city, Tuesday, in his 79th year. He was born in Baltimore, and served in the battle of North Point. His father was a native of Poland and minister of the U. B. Church. In 1818, the family removed to Martinsburg where Rev. Hildt assisted his father in the tanning and milling business. Rev. Hildt was an able preacher and a prominent man, having served as Presiding Elder a number of times, and was once stationed at Harper’s Ferry.
