June 27, 2025Patrick Welsh of King county, Ireland, personally appeared in the County Court of Jefferson, in the state of Virginia, and declared on oath that it is his bonafide intention to become a citizen of the United States and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince or Power, and particularly to the Queen of Great Britain and Ireland and further declared on oath that such has been his intention for more than three years immediately proceeding this time; he further proved to the satisfaction of the Court by the testimony of John Dunn and John Barnett, Citizens of the United States, that he is now upwards of twenty one years of age and that he migrated to the United States and resided in the same more than three years proceeding his arriving at the age of twenty one years, and that he has continued to reside in the United States from the time of his said migration up to the present time, and more than one year in the state of Virginia; and it was also proved to the satisfaction of the Court that during that time he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States and well disposed to the good order and happening of the same; and thereupon the said Patrick Welsh declared on oath that he will support the Constitution of the United States and that he doth absolutely renounce all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, or Power whatever, and particularly to the Queen of Great Britain & Ireland; and thereupon the said Patrick Welsh is admitted a Citizen of the United States, the said Court being satisfied that he has complied with the requisitions of the law and record to naturalization.
