December 21, 2023Wilber H. Lewis died suddenly at his home, Hagerstown, Route One, last evening, aged 72 years.
Born in Samples Manor, he was the son of the late Jerome T. and Nannie V. (Winks) Lewis.
He had operated a grocery store in Hagerstown from 1914 until 1940, at Potomac and Lee Streets and in the 500 block of South Potomac Street.
Surviving are wife, Mrs. Anna B. (Alter) Lewis; son, Robert W. Lewis, Hagerstown; brothers, Ray, Martinsburg, W. Va.; Harold, Jefferson, Md.; Guy, Washington, D. C.; and sister, Mrs. Martin Welsh, Bakerton, W. Va.
Funeral services will be held at the Minnich Funeral Home, Wilson Blvd., Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Raymond Miller officiating. Interment in Mt. View Cemetery, Sharpsburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening.
