Harvey Lee Eichelberger, 72, died on Tuesday after a long illness, in Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
He was a resident of Downsville. Born in Jefferson County, W. Va., he was a son of the late George Lee Eichelberger and Katie Irene Welsh Eichelberger.
Survivors are two sons, Lester and Thomas Eichelberger of Bakerton, W. Va. and Hagerstown; and two daughters, Mrs. Louise Watson of Baltimore, and Mrs. Anna Lee Howard, Boonsboro.
Sixteen grandchildren. Three sisters, Mrs. Iva Kretzer, Dargan, Md., near Harpers Ferry, Mrs. Ethel Churchey of Sharpsburg, and Mrs. Daisy Churchey of Hagerstown; six brothers, Charles Eichelberger of Martinsburg, W. Va., Frank Eichelberger of Hagerstown, Luther Eichelberger of Dargan, Walter Eichelberger of Chestnut Grove, Marvin Eichelberger of Hagerstown, and Donald Eichelberger of Dargan.
The deceased was a retired employee of the Standard Lime and Cement Corp. of the Bakerton Plant. He was a member of the Church of God, Bakerton, W. Va., and a veteran of the U. S. Army, World War I. A former resident of Bakerton, Jefferson County, W. Va., he was a recent patient at Woburn Manor Nursing Home at Downesville.
Services were held Saturday from the Church of God, at Bakerton, at 2 p. m. with the Rev. John Myers officiating. Burial was at Samples Manor, Md. Eackles Funeral home, funeral directors.
