Married: John G. Flanagan & Bertha Spickler

Wedding Bells. Mr. John G. Flanagan, a well-known and popular resident of Bakerton, W. Va., and Miss Bertha D. Spickler, of Circleville, Ohio, a young lady of high ability and noble character, were married last Thursday evening at 7.45 o’clock at the home of the bride’s brother-in-law, Frank P. Miller, Esq., at Mason and Dixon, Pa. Rev. S. O. Keister, pastor of the Lutheran Church at Greencastle, performed the ceremony in an impressive manner. Mr. Raleigh L. Moler, of Bakerton, was best man, and Miss Jane Scott Miller, of Mason and Dixon, was maid of honor. Miss Miller was attired in green cloth suiting of peculiar hue made with military effect to correspond with the bride’s imported going-away gown of postman blue. Miss Grace Eby, of Greencastle, played skillfully upon the piano before and during the ceremony. The decorations of the house were tasteful and elegant, the flowers and plants making a bower of beauty. After the wedding a delightful course supper was served, and late in the evening the bridal party drove to Hagerstown, where Mr. and Mrs. Flanagan took the train for an extended tour to New York, Philadelphia and Washington. We wish for the bride and groom many years of wedded happiness.
