The Virginia Ore Bank, located near Bakerton, Jefferson county, has been sold by Wm. S. Billings, and others to the Everett Saxton Co., of Pennsylvania. The property was in the hands of the receiver for a year or more, after being operated by Jos. E. Thopp, of Pennsylvania, for some fifteen years or more. The consideration was not named in the deed. The property consists of about 90 acres, of land and the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Co., built track from the Bakerton branch into the place some fifteen years ago. It has not been operated for several years. The deed also shows the right to mine on about 1600 acres of land in Maryland. The same company bought the buildings of Thropp in Berkeley county.
