$20k Fire In Bakerton
October 9, 2024Huff, Killed; Fell From Train
January 10, 2025To Mr. J. Strider Moler,
Candidate for County Commissioner
Harper’s Ferry District,
Bakerton, W. Va.
Please let the public know how you voted in 1904. Did you vote for Parker or Roosevelt? Were you not an office holder in the person of Postmaster at Keller, Jefferson county? Are you not interested in the postoffice at Bakerton, and are you not an employee of the Washington Building and Lime Co., whose assessment is being brought up before the County Court of Jefferson county at almost every session?
A HARPER’S FERRY VOTER.
For the benefit of the Harper’s Ferry gentleman who is manager of Mr. Mile’s campaign, and for the information of the voters in general, I take pleasure in answering all the questions above referred to.
First, I voted for Parker in 1904 and have voted for every other Democrat on the ticket ever since I have been of age.
I have been a postmaster or assistant ever since 1892, because of the fact that I have been connected with the only store in my community, where the postoffice is naturally located. This non-partisan method of conducting postoffices in country neighborhoods is prevalent all over the United States.
I am not an employee of the Washington Building Lime Company nor have I any interest in it whatever.
I am gratified that Mr. Mile’s manager has given me opportunity to publicly answer these inquiries. I will say further that no man nor no company of men will have any influence over me when it comes to a question of doing my duty if I shall be elected a member of the County Court.
Very respectfully,
J. Strider Moler.
