July 18, 2023Bill of Sale For House; Moler to Welsh
July 21, 2023A couple of weeks ago Miss Mary E. Grim, who lived with her brothers near Bakerton, this county, came to Shepherdstown to visit her sister, Mrs. Sarah Jones. Wednesday she was taken suddenly ill, and by Thursday a violet case of pneumonia was developed. Friday afternoon about four o’clock she died. Soon after she became ill she said she believed she would die, and sent a messenger to her home for her burial clothes, which she had made a couple of years ago and neatly packed away. Within the past year she had frequently expressed the belief she would not live to see another birth-day, and she had all the arrangements for her funeral provided for. She was 54 years, 2 months and 29 days old. Her remains were buried at Samples Manor on Sunday. While the funeral procession was passing over the rough roads leading to the burial ground a spring in the hearse was broken, one of the horses became unmanageable, and the funeral was greatly delayed.
