This evidence is not directly related to any people.Active operations have been resumed at the Knott limestone quarries about five miles from Shepherdstown, and the business there is to be pushed with vigor. A new quarry has been opened near the old one, and an immense vein of the best limestone has been exposed. Mr. W. J. Knott has recently bought the big lime kilns and plant of Cammack & Decker at Georgetown, and will operate them, using the stone from the Knott quarries, which will be boated to Georgetown by canal. Mr. Raleigh H. Moler, who has been in the merchandise business at Bakerton for several years, will manage the lime works in Georgetown, and left yesterday to begin his new duties. This new arrangement means that the lime business in that section of our county is to be livelier than ever.
