Big Hogs.
The following are some of the weights of big porkers killed in the town and county:
Geo. W. Duke a 400-pounder ; Alex Freeman, two at 385 and 382 ; H. M. Loyns one at 360 Clel Reynolds had three that weighed 382, 360 and 350.
The biggest hog reported in the county so far was one slaughtered last Thursday by T. Ogle Link, of Duffields, an enormous fellow that weighed 572 pounds ; J. D. Walker, of Charlestown, comes next, with a 504-pounder ; Walter Harman, of Duffields, killed seven that averaged 303 pounds ; Thomas Welsh at Bakerton had five hogs that aggregated 1641 pounds ; W. F. Clabaugh, of Keller, three that weighed 396, 387 and 354 pounds. William Goens, of Kearneysville, killed two porkers last week the weights of which were 436 and 400. B. T. Butler, of Leetown, killed one that weighed 530 pounds.
