Mrs. Bettie Moler
Mrs. Bettie Moler, widow of Adam B. Moler, died Tuesday night at her home near Bakerton, after an illness of two weeks, from pneumonia, aged 66 years. Her death was a shock to many of her friends, who had not known that she was seriously ill. Mrs. Moler, whose maiden name was Moore, was a native of Berkeley county, but had lived in the Bakerton neighborhood most of her life. She was a good woman, and her death will be deplored by a wide circle of relatives and friends. She is survived by five children; Mrs. Joseph Howell and Mrs. Carl Moler, of the Engle neighborhood, and Hugh, Agnes and Annie at home. Also the following brothers and sisters: Robert Moore, of Engle’s, and C. H. Moore, of Uvilla; Mrs. William Roberts, of Winchester, Mrs. Clinton B. Harwood, of Frederick, Mrs. Rosa Jenkins, of Shenandoah Junction, Mrs. Annie Howell, of Duffields, and Mrs. Reuben Jenkins, of Uvilla. This is the first death in a family of nine children. The funeral service will be held at her late home Friday morning at 11 o’clock, interment in Elmwood cemetery, Shepherdstown. She was a member of the Lutheran church and the service will be conducted by her pastor, Rev. I D. Worman.
