Redman Burke, Power of Attorney.

Know all men by these presents that I Redman Burke of Jefferson County in the State of Virginia, have constituted and appointed and by these presents to constitute and appoint William Brown of Washington County and State of Maryland , my true and lawful Attorney, for me and in my name, and for my use except as to one hundred and forty three dollars which is for the use of the said William Brown to prosecute, recover, demand, and receive my claim against Robert Gilmore, which claim is now in suit in the circuit court of Jefferson County in the state of Virginia on chancery side of the said court. -said claim being for the sum of three hundred and fifty dollars with interest thereon for about four years and the costs of the suit above mentioned. I do hereby authorize and empower my said Attorney, William Brown, for me and in my name to execute, sign and deliver all receipts acquittances and discharges for the same, as I could do were I personally present. Jefferson County sc. I, Geo. B. Stephenson a justice of the peace in and for the county aforesaid in the state of Virginia do hereby certify that Redmond Burke, whose name is signed to the foregoing meeting appeared before me in my surity aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed.
