July 2, 2025Thomas Kiernan, a native of Ireland, this day applied to the Court to be admitted a citizen of the United States, and it appearing to the Court that more than two years ago, to wit, at March Term, 1844, of this Court, he made a report of himself and declared on oath his intentions to become a citizen of the United States, and it being further proved to the satisfaction of the Court by the testimony of George Eichelberger and Isaac Fouke, citizens of the United States, who were examined as witnesses on oath, that the said Thomas Kiernan has resided in the United States and in this State more than five years, and during that time has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same, be the said Thomas Kiernan, declared on oath, in open Court, that he will support the constitution of the United States, and that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State of sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria I Queen of Great Britain and Ireland, and thereupon the said Thomas Kiernan is admitted citizen of the United States.
