James Edward Dopson, 82, died on Tuesday at the home of his sister, Mrs. Margaret Writt, Charles Town, following a long illness. He had lived with his sister for the past four weeks.
He was born in Montgomery County, Md., son of the late James Henry and Margaret Loudoun Dopson. He was a resident of Bakerton W. Va. for many years and was employed on the Gray farm.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Katie Ingram Dopson; two sons, Teddy, of Hagerstown; Heton, U.S. Navy; one daughter, Mrs. Grover Frye, Brunswick; three sisters and one brother.
The body was removed to Eackles funeral home at Harpers Ferry from where services will be held on Firday afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. John Wright officiating. Interment will be made in Fairview Cemetery, Bolivar.
