DEAR EDITOR– We again ask admission into your columns, but as this a dull season of the year we cannot give you much news of interest to your readers. Yet perhaps there are some who will be glad to read what little we have to say.
On Wednesday last the thirty-two hands working at the Virginia Ore Bank went on a strike, demanding 10 hours’ work with same pay as they now get working 11 hours. It is said that a part of the old hands were willing to work, but as the greater number were in favor of striking they would not permit the few to go to work.
Mr. R. H. Moler was in Baltimore last week on business. Mr. S. W. Bratt was also in Baltimore last week.
Later intelligence informs us that the Ore Bank strikers have gained their demands, and work will be resumed on Monday morning.
Yours,
REX.
