Powell & Flanagan Marriage
July 19, 2018Flanagan drawn as juror
July 19, 2018There was a very pretty wedding in the Southern Methodist church in Shepherdstown at a quarter of eight o’clock last night, when Mr. Alvey Flanagan, of Bakerton, and Miss Delia Powell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Taylor Powell, of this vicinity, were united in marriage. The ceremony was performed by Rev. D. F. Eutsler, in the presence of a large number of friends of the couple. The attendants were: Miss Essie Flanagan, maid of honor, Mr. Charles Hopper, best man; Missess Essie Moler and Lizzie Hopper, bridesmaids; Messrs. Walter Flanagan and John Moler, groomsmen; and Messrs. Edgar Moler and David Hetzel, ushers. The bride looked very sweet and charming in a handsome dress of white organdie, while the maid of honor was becomingly attired in blue organdie, both carrying bouquets. The bridesmaids wore white organdie. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. Goldie Powell. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. We hope the happy young couple may find a full realization of all their brightest hopes.
