No better idea can be had of our advancement than by visiting these annual exhibitions of industry and skill. The management this year have been successful in securing some new and unique attractions. Pierce’s Great Racing Combination will appear each day in their wonderful races, including running hurdle, Roman chariot, standing and bareback races.
The liberal premiums have attracted exhibitors from all parts of the country, and the various departments and exhibits will be full and very fine, and every one of whatever taste or disposition, will be able to find something attractive, instructive, or amusing.
The B. & O. R. R. in pursuance of their liberal custom, will sell excursion tickets from all points in their territory between Baltimore, Washington, and Cumberland, and from intermediate points between Winchester and Harper’s Ferry to Hagerstown and return, including admission to the fair, at reduced rates, and wil run special trains from Winchester stopping at intermediate stations on Thursday the 20th. The trains will leave B. & O. Depot Charlestown at 8.32 a.m., and returning will leave Hagerstown at 5:40 p.m.
The Round Trip ticket good on the day of issue only and on these special trains from Charlestown only $1.25.
