CHARLES TOWN, Aug. 2 (AP).– A dynamite explosion, which witnesses said may have been caused by static electricity, killed one man and injured three others in the quarries of the Washington Building Lime company at Bakerton.
The dead man is Thomas P. Griffin, 20 years old, of Washington county, Maryland.
Employees said the blast was set off prematurely, possibly by an approaching storm or by a bolt of lightning.
