BOLIVAR, W. Va. — Mayor Robert Dunn has appointed a Bakerton man as policeman with the Bolivar Police Department.
Gerald Eugene Jamison, a laboratory technician with the Dixie Narco Corp. in Ranson, will assume duties next week.
His appointment has been confirmed by the Bolivar Town Council.
Jamison, an active athlete while attending Harpers Ferry High School, spent 18 months in active Army service and four and a half years with the Martinsburg Army Reserve.
The former Army Sgt. carned three sports letters while at Harpers Ferry High — basketball, baseball, and football.
He is a former pro-baseball player for the Charles Town American Legion team.
The new policeman is married to the former Miss Joan Carroll of Ranson.
Mr. and Mrs. Jamison are the parents of two daughters, Pamela Jean and Patricia Ann.
