Our local base ball team motored to Bakerton on Thursday to clash with the old stars. Tablet pitched the first three innings, allowing seven runs, then they put in Rodgers, one of our All Stars and in the other six they only made one run and two hits. But we changed too late and Bakerton won 8 to 2. But the game was enjoyed by a large crowd and some one has to bet in every game.
The Methodist Children’s Day was observed Sunday, July 9, with a pleasing program arranged by the committee, and the children did their level best. The music was helped wonderfully when Mr. Tamericks house of Shepherdstown, rendered some fine selections on his violin.
