Mrs. Margaret Esther Dopson, aged 81 years, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Eliza Hoffman, on Union street, Bolivar, W. Va., Saturday, March 14, after a long illness.
She was born in Jefferson county, W. Va., and was a daughter of the late John and Anna Virginia Loudan. She had spent most of her life in that county. Her husband, the late James Dopson, died some years ago. Surviving are three daughters and two sons. Mrs. Margaret Writt, of Charles Town; Mrs. Edith McWilliams of Cavetown, Md; Mrs. Laura Spring of Bakerton; John and James Dopson, of Bakerton; 26 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Hoffman, at whose home she died and Mrs. Lee Fraley of Shepherdstown; three brothers, Messers John Loudan, of Bakerton; Charles Loudan, of Shepherdstown; and Frank Loudan, of Chambersburg, Pa. The body was removed from the Eakles Chapel, Bolivar, to the home of the son, in Bakerton, where it remained until Monday. The funeral was held from the Church of God, Bakerton, on Monday afternoon, with the Rev. John Myers officiating. Interment was made in Elmwood cemetery, Shepherdstown.
