Mr. W. S. Adams,
Lander, Md.
My Dear Mr. Clint:;,
I am returning you Mr. Fawleys, check which you sent me and am truly sorry of the misunderstanding regarding the price of Lime, by referring to my books I find that I was at your place on July 9th and you told me you would want about 800 Bu of Lime and on my order book there was no price set as at that time the Fall price for Lime was not determined and I co[u]ld not well have named the price definately for Fall shipments true we did sell Lime in April, May and June for 22c per bushel and I am enclosing you a letter from the M. J. Grove Lime Co, which is in answer to my letter of July 26 asking for prices and you will see the Agricultural Lump Lime is quoted @ $6.00 per Ton or 24c per bu, there being 25 Bu to the Ton, I have sold from 1000 to 1200 Tons at this price and believe if you will call up any of the Lime People, either Keller, Grove or Baker you will find they sold it at the Kiln for 25c per Bu this Fall. I am sorry of this misunderstanding Mr Clint, but have sold the Lime to every one @ 24c less 2% for cash in 30 days and I will make yours 1c per Bushel or 25c net per bu,. I must ask that you see Mr. Fawley and have him correct his check to right amount also please return me the M. J. Grove letter of quotations, they say Lime [missing second page]
Will be 30c next season [?] to W. L. Gross
