B&O Nearing Completion

The work on the Baltimore and Ohio Rail Road is advancing to completion, the whole distance from Harpers-Ferry west-ward.– Indeed, for miles, the road is graded; and it is only at some deep cut, of deeper fill, that the sound of the pick axe or the drill is heard. Under the continued efforts of the hardy laborers now employed upon it, we may expect to see a level track ready to receive the rails, by the time that those who undertook the contracts for laying them, can collect their materials. Immediately east of town, the force of laborers, under the direction of Mr. FLEMMING, appears to be making headway through the rock bound hill; and the boom of the blast, as rock after rock is dislodged, reminds us of the noisy celebrations of the triumphant Whigs last fall.
