Railroad Riots

The disorders on the Washington rail road did not terminate with the atrocious murders detailed in our last. On the night of the 22d ult. some of the ruffians forcibly entered a tavern, kept by Mrs. Harrison, between Baltimore and Washington, and appropriated to themselves every thing they could find. Another party broke open a store in the same neighborhood, and took away such goods as they chose.

The military of Baltimore have been very efficient in securing the laborers for examination.– Nearly four hundred have been apprehended and lodged in the Baltimore jail.

The citizens of Anne Arundel and Prince George’s County, Md., have held a meeting, and adopted resolutions highly vindictive to the Irish. They have requested the President of the Company to discharge all laborers of this class; and they seem determined, if their wishes be disregarded, to use forcible measures to expel from these counties the objects of their antipathy.
