Negress Used Carving Knife on Woman with Probably Fatal Effect.
Special to The Washington Post.
Harpers Ferry, W. Va., Oct. 9.— Saturday night during a cake-walk and dance at Engles Switch, near Bakerton, Jefferson County, W. Va., Mrs. Joseph Parrott, colored, attacked her sister-in-law, Zene Parrott, with a carving knife, inflicting serious and perhaps fatal injuries. While Zene Parrott was dancing with Joe Parrott, the latter’s wife, in a jealous rage, seized a carving knife and stabbed the woman about the face and neck, inflicting ten wounds, which probably will prove fatal.
Both Joe Parrott and his wife have been arrested by Constable Thomas Jones, of Bolivar, W. Va. and placed in the Bolivar jail, but later on were taken to the jail at Harpers Ferry for greater security.
