ARRIVAL of THE STEAMER ACADIA.
Alarming state of Affairs in Ireland— A rising of the people and a most sanguinary struggle anticipated.
The first Telegraphic dispatch the readers of the “Spirit of Jefferson” have had the pleasure of receiving, reported specially for their benefit, came to hand last night, at 9 o’clock. We are alike indebted to MR. TOWNSEND, the constructor of the line to Harpers-Ferry, as to the favor of Mr. WAGNER of the U. S. Hotel, and to Mr. WARD for the transmission to us of the important intelligence which follows:
BALTIMORE, Monday P. M. 6 1/2 o’clock.
The Steamer Acadia arrived at Boston on the 13th. Her news was telegraphed to Baltimore this evening, (14h,) at 4 o’clock. The news as regards Ireland is considered highly important, and will produce a sensation at every point it may reach.

The Queen’s special messenger arrived in Dublin on the 26th July, with copy of the Proclamation, and it was immediately dispatched to all parts of Ireland. It has excited a deep feeling of indignation. The Castle has the appearance of a fortress.

Rewards of £500 each have been offered for the arrest of Smith O’Brien, Meagher, Dillhon and Dohney. A report in Dublin that O’Brien had fled,
The accounts received from South of Ireland are of the most alarming character. A rising of the people, and a struggle of the most sanguinary character is no longer improbable. Such was the state of feeling on the South of Ireland, that the Governor had issued orders for a constabulary force of 5,000 men to be added to the counties of Waterford, Limmerick, and Tipperary. These men are to be drilled to the use of the musket, pistol, and cutlass. It was anticipated that the coming insurrection would partake of the character of a Guerilla war.
